Course content
This department encompasses two academic sections: Marine Biology and Resources Management (MBRM), and physical and environmental marine sciences (PEMS). MBRM focuses on issues related to biological oceanography, ocean productivity, fisheries, marine botany and marine mammals, coastal and marine resources, and socio-economic and resource management. PEMS has two sections, namely Physical and Chemical sciences. In the chemical, courses generally focus on pollution, natural products and ocean-land atmosphere interaction. The physical subsection focuses on physical oceanography, marine geology, geophysics and marine technology.
